Sonexis Behind the Curtain Features (Vol. 1)
The Sonexis ConferenceManager™ has a long list of out-of-the box features that have become an expected set of functionality in the collaboration space (e.g., Audio Recording, Host & Participant Dial Out, Breakout Sessions, etc.). In addition to this set of features the ConferenceManager also carries a long list of “behind the curtain” functionality. These are not only unique to the industry but are also a culmination of custom development that we’ve done for customers over the years that is now rolled into the product for all of our customers moving forward.
Orphan Call Detection & Mitigation:
Unlike most traditional service providers, the Sonexis solution comes with orphan caller protection. Whereby, if a conference has been initiated and only one participant has joined, whether it's a VoIP or POTS connection, the Sonexis system will recognize that there is just one connection and send a pre-determined number of prompts asking the caller if they want to remain on the line, to press any key.
Unique to Sonexis, is that if no key was entered, we'll send a tear down signal all the way to the PBX for port reclamation – a common problem with many SIP based systems is that the tear down only disconnects that remaining connection, but it does not free up that port on the PBX.
Most conferencing service providers (CSP) do not come with this protection and so the customer isn’t made aware of this, if at all, unless they analyze their invoice closely. With Sonexis orphan caller protection, our customers can rest assured that no unnecessary fees will show up at the end of the month from the Telco and that the system will remain fully available for all other conferences.
Microsoft Active Directory (AD):
The Sonexis ConferenceManager has a powerful integration with Microsoft Active Directory. This integration support allows for the system to automatically create or remove user accounts on the Sonexis system as they are added or removed from their corporate network.
This automation is especially crucial for large organizations that, simply due to their size, have employees regularly coming and going. With all the other aspects of that turnover to keep in mind, the last detail an IT or Telecom group wants to worry about is their user’s conferencing accounts.
