Real-time Call Management
The Audio Console is a powerful graphical interface that gives the host additional controls that allow for easy management of a conference in real time. The ActiveTalker™ feature helps the host keep track of who's talking - or who's got the noisy line - by highlighting who's speaking in real time. If necessary, the host has the ability to mute or disconnect a noisy line, using the commands to the right of each participants name/number.
The host can also "mute all" with a single click to transition a conference into "lecture mode" when needed, allowing them to eliminate the chance of unwanted or accidental interruptions from participants. While in lecture mode, participants still have the ability to chime in using their "raise hand" tool simply by dialing *3. This will be indicated to the host through the Audio Console where they can then unmute the participants' line and "lower" the raised hand indicator.
Another tool that is extremely useful within the Audio Console is private conferencing. Hosts can divide participants in up to ten private sub-conferences where separate discussions can take place. While using this tool, the host has the ability to join private conferences as needed, as well as label sub-conference rooms to easily navigate between them. The private conference tool is automatically utilized by the Audio Console when a host dials out to a participant, using the dial out panel on the left side of the interface. This allows the host to greet and brief the participant prior to bringing them into the main conference room.
